Gracenote offers several image types for programs, and using these depend on the use case. See the description for each image type below and the Image Controlled Vocabulary.
Program Image Selection
IMG_PRG_MAINis applicable by default if you are looking for a Banner type.IMG_PRG_MAIN_MKT, when available, can take precedence overIMG_PRG_MAINas it is more relevant to the market.- If
IMG_PRG_MAIN_BRDis available for the same program, Gracenote recommends using this image instead ofPRG_MAIN, as it only applies to the Source the program appears in. - Use
IMG_PRG_ICONICwhen you need an image with no title treatment.
Cast and Crew Images
- For Cast and Crew, Gracenote recommends using
IMG_CONT_MAINto create a home page for a specific celebrity. IMG_CONT_ENSEMBLEis more suited for use cases that need to show multiple cast members that are part of the work/program. e.g.: Friends TV Series. The above logic for Market Specific and Branded Images applies to Cast and Crew as well.
Image Variations
The same images can be available in different aspect ratios and dimensions.
Episodic Program Fallback
If an Episodic program does not have any associated image, Gracenote recommends choosing the Series (Show) level image. Episodes belonging to a Show/Series/Franchise will have the Series Root GNID/ Series Id referenced in the document.
